In light of the recent election results, thousands of people across the United States started petitions to the government requesting that their state secede from the Union.  Drew Zahn, news editor at WND, joins Jason Hartman for a discussion about this movement that immediately followed on the heels of Obama’s re-election.  Drew and Jason talk about states’ rights, pointing out that many citizens feel our individual rights are also being infringed upon through some of President Obama’s mandates, such as healthcare reform.  The movement began with one gentleman in Louisiana asking for a peaceful secession from the Union for his state and very quickly snowballed.  Drew explains the legality involved in secession, noting that there are three ways that a state can leave the Union.  For details on this issue, please visit www.HolisticSurvival.com.  Citizens in all 50 states have petitioned the White House, with many states having acquired more than enough signatures to meet the requirement of the government’s policy for petitions.  Jason and Drew discuss the ramifications, good, bad and difficult, of a state actually legally seceding.

Drew Zahn is a reporter, movie critic and one of the news editors at WND.com, the nation’s oldest, largest independent online news source.  A graduate of Bethel University in St. Paul, Minnesota, Drew Zahn is a former pastor, who cut his editing teeth as a member of the award-winning staff of Leadership, Christianity Today’s professional journal for church leaders.  He is the editor of seven books, including “Movie-Based Illustrations for Preaching and Teaching,” which sparked his ongoing love affair with film and his weekly WND column, “Popcorn and a (World)View.”  He and his wife and their 16 children live in Iowa.

Jason Hartman is joined by Pastor Lindsey Williams to share his experiences from members of the Elite, a group of very wealthy people around the world that are said to be behind the orchestration of the global financial crisis for the inception of a one-world currency. He describes the “ethical” code of the Elite and ways that they attempt to get the word out to people before situations happen, particularly through the use of media. Signals that Pastor Williams was to watch for were a crack in the derivative market, which goes unregulated and in May 2012, J.P. Morgan lost $5 billion on derivative trading and $25 billion in share losses; currency wars that began with China saying they will allow a 0.5% – 1% increase in their currency; trade wars in which countries bypass the American dollar; and an increase in interest rates. For more of Pastor Williams’ claims, visit:  www.HolisticSurvival.com.  Pastor Williams emphasizes the need to secure assets now and be aware of all that is going on around the world. One step is to trade our worthless paper money for gold and silver.

Lindsey Williams was invited to be the Chaplain to the Elite of the world for three years during the construction of the Trans-Alaska Oil Pipeline. Because of his position as Chaplain, he was offered executive status with Alyeska Pipeline Service Company in an advisory capacity and sat in the board meetings with the Elite, listening to people who tell the President of the United States what to do, tell Congress what bills to pass, dictate the price of oil on any given day, and control the currencies of the world, talk of their plans. Pastor Lindsey Williams is the author of six books, two of which became best sellers. He has been a Baptist minister for 55 years.

On this show, we have talked about food, medication and just about everything that makes us sick. For this episode, Jason Hartman is joined by Sonia Barrett to talk about her forthcoming documentary, The Business of Disease. Sonia is an author and the host/producer and founder of Sovereign Mind Radio. She wrote an article in 2010 entitled “The Marketing of Breast Cancer, the pink ribbon agenda, and received staggering positive feedback.  It led to the production of The Business of Disease. Sonia takes a look at how marketing and media, such as the pink ribbons, drive a huge business for the awareness and treatment of breast cancer. She points out that various businesses make tons of money from different events and fundraisers, and hospitals make more money from mammograms. In the documentary, Sonia took a look at how all of the awareness efforts for breast cancer affect the brain, not just for women, but for their spouses and children.  This is a segue into talking about Sonia’s book, The Holographic Canvas: The Fusing of Mind and Matter. She explains that our belief system is shaped by society, family, and upbringing, and without asking questions, those belief systems establish what reality is going to look like for each of us. This can make our reality less than authentic and more of “going with the flow.” Reality is what we focus on and whatever each person focuses on at any given moment in their life is what is real to them. Sonia encourages examining belief systems. For more information, visit:  www.HolisticSurvival.com.

Sonia Barrett’s book was published in 2008, providing cutting edge insights supported by quantum physics, that addresses programming, beliefs and concepts by which we have lived our lives both individually and collectively. These insights provide clarity in understanding the paradox of both the real and the unreal; the visible and the invisible components of reality; the holographic experience. Known for her mind-bending concepts, she stretches the mind even further by going beyond the common view of time. Sonia Barrett has appeared on panels with such noted speakers/scientists as Dr. Amit Goswami, Dr. Bruce Lipton and a number of others. She has been a Key Note speaker at a number of conferences to name a few; the ISSSEEM Conference, Conscious Life Expo and the Alchemy Conference. Sonia Barrett is a popular radio guest and has appeared on television as well. She appeared in the 2010 film Ghetto Physics, produced by Will Arntz (producer of What the Bleep do We Know) and E Raymond Brown. She also appears in the upcoming docudrama (2012) Openings, The Search for Harry. She is currently producing her first documentary, The Business of Disease, a 90-minute feature, and is also publishing a companion book for the film filled with chapters from everyone in the film. In addition to Sovereign Mind Radio (www.sovereignmindradio.com), she is the founder and publisher of Sovereign Mind Magazine (www.sovereignmindmagazine.com).

For some time, there has been a debate about the safety of cell phones and smart meters due to high frequencies produced by these devices. Dr. Sam Milham speaks with Jason Hartman about his book, Dirty Electricity, and how anything that interrupts the flow of electricity causes dirty electricity. Dr. Milham contends that, based on his research, mortality rates increased as more and more residents of urban areas were joined to the electrical grid, including risks of cancer and diabetes. He shares some research, including an increase in cancer in a school, dairy cows not producing milk, and more that led to the discovery of high frequency electrical pollution that was causing an increase in a variety of problems and diseases. Not all electricity is dirty, but anything that produces high frequency waves, such as smart meters, certain appliances, cell phones, digital handheld phones, compact fluorescent lights, solar energy, WiFi, and more, contributes to higher rates of cancer and even obesity. Dr. Milham suggests ways to eliminate dirty electricity in the home. For more details, visit:  www.HolisticSurvival.com.

Dr. Milham is a specialist in occupational epidemiology and is known as the scientist who first alerted the world about the frightening link between occupational exposure to electromagnetic fields, electromagnetic pollution, and human disease. Dr. Milham is a graduate of Union College and Albany Medical College. He became a Senior Resident in Epidemiology at the New York State Department of Health in 1961 and then was a development consultant for the department. His experience includes Associate Professor, Department of Pediatrics, Albany Medical College; Associate Professor, University of Hawaii School of Public Health and Medical School; Section Head, Epidemiology Section, Washington; Chronic Disease Epidemiologist, Washington State Department of Health, and more. He has received many awards and has written numerous articles on various medical issues. His mortality rate studies led to the writing of his book, Dirty Electricity, to alert people to the possibility of a looming epidemic of morbidity and mortality due to high frequency radiation, and what steps to take to reduce our exposure to dirty electricity.

Jason Hartman interviews author and artist, Paul Levy, regarding his intense experience with what was deemed bi-polar mental illness, his spiritual awakening, and the journey to free himself from the psychiatric world.  Wetiko is an indigenous term used by Native Americans to describe spiritual evil. Due to an intense personal trauma suffered a few years before, Paul had a life-changing spiritual awakening in 1981 that was misdiagnosed as a chemical imbalance and manic-depressive (bi-polar) illness. He was hospitalized numerous times and told he was having a severe psychotic breakdown and would have to live with his illness for the rest of his life. Paul explains how he became aware that, indeed, he was not suffering from a mental illness, but a spiritual awakening (Wetiko) and found spiritual teachers that helped him through his spiritual breakthrough. For more about his amazing story, listen at:  www.HolisticSurvival.com. Paul talks about one of the chapters in his book, “Vampire Squid Economics,” which he describes as a perfect symbol of what happens when Wetiko gets into business.

An artist, after the trauma of his shamanic break-down/through, he became a certified art teacher. Due to his intense interest in the work of C. G. Jung, by the end of the decade he found himself the manager of the C. G. Jung Foundation Book Service in New York, as well as the advertising manager for the Jungian journal Quadrant. In the fall of 1990, he moved to Portland, Oregon. In 1993, after many years of struggling to contain and integrate his non-ordinary experiences, Paul started to openly share his insights about the dream-like nature of reality. He began giving talks and facilitating groups based on how life is a shared waking dream that we are all co-creating and co-dreaming together. He is the founder of the ‘Awakening in the Dream’ Community in Portland, Oregon. He facilitates a number of ‘Awakening in the Dream Groups’ every week, which are groups of people who are awakening to the dreamlike nature of reality who are realizing that they can come together in a way that helps everyone deepen and stabilize their lucidity even further. A wounded healer in private practice, he assists others who are also awakening to the dream-like nature of reality.

Paul is a pioneer in the field of spiritual emergence. A Tibetan Buddhist practitioner for over 30 years, he has intimately studied with some of the greatest spiritual masters of Tibet and Burma. He is the author of The Madness of George Bush: A Reflection of Our Collective Psychosis. Paul’s website is www.awakeninthedream.com.

Many scenarios exist of a potential societal collapse in our world, such as nuclear war, biological warfare, plagues and disease, global financial collapse, political strife or a natural catastrophe. Regardless of how it could come about, survival is the name of the game. Jason Hartman interviews R.P. Ruggiero, author of Brushfire Plague, to talk about the book, about preparation, survival and the importance of community. Brushfire Plague  is an action novel about a virulent plague that quickly spreads around the world. The main character faces a daily battle for survival, which leads to uncovering a horrible secret about the Brushfire Plague and having to make incredibly difficult choices. In the interview, R.P. talks about group dynamics, how issues are discussed and worked out under duress. We have to be able to deal with and communicate with other people, including others’ egos and fears. He further explains that in crisis situations, people tend to be slow to realize the rules have changed, and discusses preparation and security. His goal is stressing the basic responsibility of being prepared so as not to be a burden on others and being able to protect yourself and your family should a crisis occur.

R.P. Ruggiero lives in the Pacific Northwest with his wife and two sons.  He spends as much time as he can in the outdoors and strives to live by Robert Heinlein’s credo that, “Specialization is for insects.”  When he is not outdoors, writing, or learning a new skill, he works coordinating people to achieve their common goals.  He brings his almost two decades of experience in group dynamics—particularly when people are under stress—to good use in writing The Brushfire Plague; a novel grounded in neighborhood defense during a devastating plague.

HS 111 - Social Engineering with Chris Hadnagy

We have all had the experience of being taken advantage of at some point in our life. Con artists are often very friendly and charming. Jason Hartman is joined by author, Chris Hadnagy to discuss social engineering and framing, and how it relates to personal, business and national security issues. The discussion centers on Chris’ book, Social Engineering:  The Art of Human Hacking. Chris defines social engineering as “any act that influences a person to take an action that may or may not be in their best interest.” He talks about the most important aspects of human hacking, such as influence – establishing rapport and asking for someone’s help. Other aspects include reciprocity, concessions and social proof. Chris also explains the process of framing.  Our framing is our foundation, our beliefs and morals, and social engineers work to understand a person’s framing, looking for common ground. To learn more about these types of social engineering, the positive and negative sides of them, visit www.HolisticSurvival.com.

Chris Hadnagy, aka loganWHD, has been involved with computers and technology for over 14 years. Presently his focus is on the "human" aspect of technology such as social engineering and physical security. Chris has spent time in providing training in many topics around the globe and also has had many articles published in local, national and international magazines and journals.

Chris is a student of Paul Ekman's training classes on Microexpressions and has spent time learning and educating others on the values of nonverbal communications.  He has combined what he learned with years of experience in a new research he has called nonverbal human hacking used to influence other people’s emotions.

He is also the lead developer of Social-Engineer.Org, as well as the author of the best-selling book, Social Engineering: The Art of Human Hacking. He has launched a line of professional social engineering training and penetration testing services at www.Social-Engineer.Com. His goal is to help companies remain secure by educating them on the methods the "bad guys" use. Analyzing, studying, dissecting, then performing the very same attacks used by malicious hackers on some of the most recent attacks (i.e. Sony, HB Gary, LockHeed Martin, etc), Chris is able to help companies stay educated and secure.

Chris runs one of the web’s very popular security podcasts, the Social-Engineer.Org Podcast, which spends time each month analyzing someone who has to use influence and persuasion in their daily lives. By dissecting what they do, we can learn how we can enhance our abilities.  That same analysis runs over to the equally popular SEORG Newsletter.  After two years, both of these have become a staple in most serious security practices and are used by Fortune 500 companies around the world to educate their staff.  Chris can be found online at www.social-engineer.org, www.social-engineer.com and twitter as @humanhacker.
