This week's Flash Back Friday takes us to episode 81, from March 2012

Join Jason Hartman and author of Primal Body, Primal Mind, Nora Gedgaudas, as they explore the negative effects of stress and anxiety on our brains and how nutrition is essential to a healthy brain. Nora explains how high levels of stress causes dumps of cortisol, leaving the brain “marinating” in it, and how it breaks down the temporal portion of the brain. Doctors tend to accept this breakdown as a sign of aging, but Nora says this is simply not the case. Just because something seems commonplace does not mean it is normal.

Nutrition plays such an incredible role in our overall health. Our food and water sources have changed to something completely unrecognizable to our ancestors, who ingested animal fat and protein primarily and were stronger and more disease-free. When we’re stressed, we often crave carbohydrates and this comes from the body expecting it because that’s what we’re feeding it. Nora describes how sugar is like kindling for the metabolic fire, burning quickly and constantly needing to be replenished. Contrary to today’s popular beliefs and fads, the fuel our bodies are designed to run on will surprise you. Nora provides insight into how to end the cravings and rollercoaster dieting, and also explains the problems with vegan and vegetarian diets, and talks about gluten sensitivity, the rise in inflammatory issues and autoimmune dysfunctions.

Nora Gedgaudas is Board-certified in Holistic Nutrition® through the National Association of Nutritional Professionals (NANP) and is recognized by the Nutritional Therapy Association as a Certified Nutritional Therapist (CNT). She has appeared as a guest lecturer on radio and television. She was host of her own top rated radio program on Voice America Radio’s “Health and Wellness” channel and her “Primal Body, Primal Mind” radio podcasts are now available on iTunes. Nora served as a trainer for the State of Washington Institute of Mental Health, illuminating nutrition’s impact on mental health for State health care workers at all levels .She maintains a private practice in Portland, Oregon as both a Certified Nutritional Therapist (CNT) and a Board-certified Clinical Neurofeedback Specialist (CNS). Nora’s ground breaking book, Primal Body, Primal Mind, currently ranks near the top of all health-related books on Amazon and in August 2011, Nora was a featured presenter at the Ancestral Health Symposium at UCLA—billed as “the Woodstock of evolutionary medicine”.

Former White House space program adviser, a NASA consultant, and space shuttle engineer John Casey takes issue with scientists, politicians, and anyone who believes in the phenomenon of global warming. He takes issue because, according to his research, it's a complete sham with no evidence supporting it, and we're actually in the midst of a global cooling due to a sun cycle.

John and Jason Hartman talk about why we're being misled regarding our climate, how we can know for certain, and what is ACTUALLY happening and why.

Key Takeaways:

[2:03] Are we seeing global warming, cooling, or nothing much?

[6:33] How can someone know who to believe when it comes to what is happening with our climate?

[10:11] Wouldn't a little bit of global warming be good for farming and agriculture in a lot of the world?

[15:12] What's the motivation for people pushing the global warming agenda?

[19:45] If you can control carbon dioxide and carbon, you control all life on Earth

[23:52] A summary on why we are experiencing a global cooling

Today's Flash Back Friday takes us to Episode 93 from June 2012.

The Ultimate Zapper inventor, Ken Presner, talks with Jason about an interesting alternative to healing from many illnesses and diseases. Ken shares some of his story about his amazing recovery from Multiple Sclerosis and near fatal experience with Crohn’s disease. Ken was inspired by Dr. Hulda Clark, who invented the original parasite zapper in 1993, to invent a zapper that includes what is called the Electroporation Effect. This type of therapy enhances the body’s cells’ uptake of medicine and vitamin and mineral supplements. Ken discusses the different types of therapeutic benefits achieved through zapping, from maintaining health in a healthy person to ridding the body of parasites, bacteria, fungus and toxins, even cancer. Every person’s body contains parasites and many parasites, bacteria and toxins may eventually affect the body’s pathology. Ken also covers some of the scientific research, explaining frequencies and the destructive or healing effect of various frequencies. He also addresses issues with the FDA, mercury fillings, and the importance of recognizing the root of pathologies, whether they are metals or chemical.

This weeks Flash Back Friday takes us back to Episode 97 from 2012.

Join Jason Hartman as he leads author, Ted Sumner, through a fascinating true story about Ted’s undercover police work with the San Jose Police Department and how the War on Drugs could be approached much differently. Ted talks about the alternative of legalizing certain drugs, particularly marijuana, but with control factors and accountability, controlling the production, distribution and safety to remove the high profit motive. Simply legalizing drugs leaves the black market open. Ted gives the example of Switzerland’s success in the legalizing of marijuana, where there are controls and regulations in place.

In addition to his work in law enforcement, Ted has taught martial arts for 45 years, and he is the creator and instructor of the Rehabilitation through Kenpo program to rehab veterans with brain trauma injuries. His goal in writing his book was to illustrate the great value of martial arts training and to shed light on the drug abuse problem in America, as well as the inadequate government drug policies.

Today's Flash Back Friday takes us to Episode 85 with Tom Grier.

With spring coming into full swing, so are ticks and the warnings of Lyme disease. But just how serious is this disease? Jason Hartman interviews Tom Grier, Executive Director of Pathology Studies at MIBDEC, a non-profit organization. Tom tells his horrendous personal experience with Lyme disease that went undiagnosed for years, and was reluctantly diagnosed with Multiple Schlerosis. He shares his story of new symptoms that popped up continuously, including a constant severe pressure in his head. Finally, one doctor looked at his chart and told him that he had late stage Lyme disease. Tom discusses the conspiratorial angle between insurance companies and scientists and doctors, which has led to many people not being treated properly for the disease.

Tom studied Clinical Immunology and Microbiology at the University of MN Duluth, and began a doctorate program in Geriatrics until the program was discontinued. Currently, Tom is the Executive Director of Pathology Studies at MIBDEC. MIBDEC is an non-profit organization trying to register Dementia and MS patients to donate their brains to science to look for spirochetes (Lyme) as a possible connection to some (not all) dementias. He does this because of the refusal by health departments, the NIH or CDC to do the proper work to rule out spirochetes within the brain as a cause of our increased rate of dementia in America and around the temperate latitudes of the Northern Hemisphere. Also like many in his field, he is concerned about the government not telling us the truth about epidemic diseases and the purposely funding of bad science. There are also conflicts of financial interest that prevent good science from prevailing.

Former Deputy Secretary of the US Department of Health and Human Services Tevi Troy, who is also President of American Health Policy Institute, joins Jason Hartman to discuss his newest book, Shall We Wake the President?: Two Centuries of Disaster Management from the Oval Office.

The two examine some of the best and worst presidents in terms of handling disasters. One president makes both Tevi's "Best" and his "Worst" list because of two very different responses to two drastically different scenarios. Tevi also takes a look at what current president Donald Trump might do when/if a disaster takes place. Jason also tries to get the former Deputy Secretary to discuss the possibility that the Republicans might actually be able to show an Obamacare replacement that Democrats might actually support, and that would actually improve our system.

Key Takeaways:

[1:37] The best and worst presidents at handling disasters

[5:13] How Tevi thinks Donald Trump will handle disasters

[7:50] The newness of Trump's cabinet to politics could create a problem if there's an early disaster during his presidency

[10:59] How pop culture impacts presidents

[13:35] Tevi outlines a path that he believes Republicans should take to get a new healthcare bill passed

[16:40] How Trump's participation in pop culture might play a role in his presidency
